Tina Lohmeyer
Lohmeyer’s family moved to Shelton from Eastern Washington when she was in fourth grade, and ever since high school, she has known she’s wanted to be a nurse. She volunteered at Mason General Hospital for her senior project, volunteering to make packets. She graduated from Shelton High School in 2003, finished nursing school and obtained her nursing license from South Puget Sound Community College in 2006 and later completed her bachelor’s degree at Grand Canyon University in 2011.
“When I was a kid, my sister was at Harborview Medical Center, and I was really impressed and intrigued by the nurses I saw,” Lohmeyer recalled. “I started at Mason General Hospital in 2006, after I finished nursing school. I planned to get my experience in the ICU and then move onto bigger hospitals. Then I saw that this is a great place to work. It challenged me. Mason Health is a great place to have work-life balance and raise a family.”
Throughout her years at Mason Health, Lohmeyer has worked as an ICCU nurse, a House Supervisor, the manager of the Medical-Surgical-Pediatrics Unit and then now back to the ICCU. Working in the ICCU is her favorite place to be.
“I just enjoyed the bedside so much,” she said. “You see patients on their worst days. You get to guide them through, walk alongside them and help them. I love my coworkers. I have some of the most amazing coworkers. We really have each other’s backs. That is hard to find nowadays.”
Lohmeyer is married with three children, ages 15, 13 and 6 in the Shelton School District. The family enjoys going on walks, kayaking, riding bikes and exploring the area.
