MGH FOUNDATION AUXILIARY ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

SHELTON, WA – Mason General Hospital Foundation’s Auxiliary Chapter will award $15,000 total in scholarships this year for 17 award recipients. The award winners include six high school students, eight Mason Health employees and three renewal applicants.
Scholarships for Graduating High School Seniors ($1,000 each):
- Shelton High School student Marissa Deemer, 18, will study at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
- Shelton High School student Eryka Delgado-Hernandez, 17, plans to study at South Puget Sound Community College to become a Labor & Delivery nurse.
- North Mason High School student Abigail Green, 18, plans to study at Olympic College to study diagnostic medical sonography.
- Shelton High School student Sarah Jacoby, 17, will study sports medicine at Washington State University.
- Shelton High School student Faith Linthicum, 17, intends to study at Saint Martin’s University in Olympia to pursue a major in Biology and a minor in Public Health to become a neurologist.
- Shelton High School student Helday Zacarias, 18, plans to pursue a nursing degree at Saint Martin’s University.
Renewal Scholarships for Past Scholarship Winners:
- Ian Frost was awarded $2,000 to continue his veterinary studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Frost was first awarded an Auxiliary scholarship in 2018. He received a renewal scholarship in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
- Cristal Resendiz-Ramos was awarded $2,000 to continue her education at Washington State University, where she is studying Psychology. Resendiz-Ramos was awarded an Auxiliary scholarship in 2020 and 2021.
- Mason Health employee Chloe Wilder, MA-C, received a renewal scholarship of $1,000 to continue her pursuit of a nursing degree at South Puget Sound Community College. Wilder received an Auxiliary scholarship in 2020 and 2021.
Mason Health Employee Scholarships ($500 each):
- Jennifer Bronk, HIM Clerk, plans to study at Hutchinson Community College for her Registered Health Information Technician certification.
- Yvonne Edwards, MA-C, is working on her Master of Social Work, currently studying psychology at The Evergreen State College.
- Melissa Lawhon, Surgical Technician, plans to study to become a registered nurse.
- Shelby Powell, Certified Nursing Assistant, intends to study to become a registered nurse.
- Julia Solano-Martinez, Patient Access Specialist, plans to study to become a registered nurse.
- Ian Strozyk, Radiologic Tech Aide, intends to study to become an X-Ray technician.
- Amanda Wells, Certified Nursing Assistant, is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing.
- Jordan Willis, Radiologic Tech Aide, plans to study at Grand Canyon University to become a Certified Occupational Therapist.
The Mason General Hospital Foundation Auxiliary is a chapter of Mason General Hospital Foundation. The Auxiliary supports and staffs the MGHF Gift Shop within Mason General Hospital, with proceeds going to scholarships for students entering medical professions.
Mason General Hospital Foundation furthers the mission of Public Hospital District No.1 by enhancing the quality of health care enjoyed by patients of Mason County. MGHF provides financial support to Mason Health.
