Give Local South Puget Sound is an annual online giving campaign that promotes community generosity and supports nonprofits across Thurston, Mason, and Lewis Counties. Over the past two years, Mason General Hospital Foundation has successfully raised $21,710 through the Community Foundation of South Puget Sound’s Give Local campaign, which, combined with the Bonus Fund match of $4,588.83, brings the total funds raised to $26,298.83.
“We look forward to partnering with our community members once again to exceed our goal of $5,000 raised during Give Local,” said Mason Health & Mason General Hospital Foundation Chief Development & Communications Officer Jennifer Capps. “With your help, we can continue to support the purchase of medical equipment for Mason Health, giving our patients and community the best patient-centered care in the Pacific Northwest. Please consider making a donation today.”
In 2022, Mason General Hospital Foundation resumed fundraising events such as the Quality Care Open golf tournament, renamed this year the Jack Stark Invitational, and Bikers for Babies, hosted by the Warrior Angel Riders of Tacoma. Proceeds from both events raised funds for Mason Health’s renowned Birth Center at Mason General Hospital. Grateful patients also continue to make donations to Mason Health through Mason General Hospital Foundation, as evidenced through Mason Health’s recent purchase of a state-of-the-art universal X-ray imaging machine for fluoroscopy, which now allows for multiple procedures for both adult and pediatric patients.
“One of the beautiful things about being involved in the Foundation is I feel many of the gifts are humming in the background and helping add value to the exemplary services provided by Mason Health,” said Mason General Hospital Foundation Board Treasurer Tom Strong, CEO of the Skokomish Indian Tribe. “It might not be something that is always noticed. That’s an important part of the Foundation. We’re here to support all the great work that goes on and provide those critical resources that are necessary to provide the tools to give the best, most complete care to all of the community here in Mason County.”
