MASON HEALTH WELCOMES COMMUNITY TO 55TH CELEBRATION AND HISTORIC ART UNVEILING AT CEDAR BUILDING – CELEBRATING PHYSICAL THERAPY MONTH!
Release Date: Oct 06, 2023
SHELTON, WA – Mason Health invites the community to take a step back into Mason County’s history with a viewing of new art installations on Monday, Oct. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Cedar Building, home of Mason Health’s Rehabilitation Services Department. This event celebrates Mason Health’s 55th anniversary of delivering patient care to the Mason County community, while also coinciding with National Physical Therapy Month. The public is invited to attend this open house and floating reception, with food service from Tacos Oaxaqueña and cupcakes.
The new artwork installation and historic photographs on display at the Cedar Building have been made possible by the Mason General Hospital Foundation Arts Commission, with grant funding from Mason County’s Historic Preservation Commission. Cooper Studios in Shelton completed the restoration of the photographs, as well as the design and installation of the new artwork display in late September. The new artwork highlights Mason County’s logging history through a stunning visual display. The Mason County Historical Society provided guidance and assistance throughout the project as well.
“The Mason General Hospital Foundation Arts Commission has been proud to see this project through to its completion,” said Jennifer Capps, Mason Health and Mason General Hospital Foundation Chief Development & Communication Officer. “We are thrilled with the work that Cooper Studios has done and are excited to share the artwork with the public, all while celebrating 55 years of serving our patients and community.”
The event coincides with National Physical Therapy Month, a chance to raise awareness about the benefits of physical therapy. Mason Health’s physical therapists will be on hand to answer questions, share resources and guide members of the public through flexibility exercises and demonstrations. This year’s theme is the “Value of PT,” highlighting the ways physical therapy improves quality of life.
