SHELTON — Mason General Hospital Foundation’s Barrels & Brews events committee is gearing up for a fun time raising money for a great cause on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Kneeland Park in Shelton! Don’t forget to buy tickets ahead of time to avoid longer wait times. All pre-sale ticketholders will be entered into a contest for special gift baskets donated by MGHF board members! Deadline for pre-sale prize basket entries is Friday, August 2nd at 8 a.m. MGHF would also like to thank Silver Level sponsor Electrocom Communications and Supporter Level sponsor Little Creek Casino Resort for stepping up to support quality health care in Mason County, as well as Gift-In-Kind sponsors The Shopper and the Shelton-Mason County Journal. For an advance entry price of $30, ticketholders will be able to use five drink tickets to try out local brews and wines, listen to live music from the The Oly Mountain Boys, and take part in a short live auction for amazing prizes. A commemorative glass will be offered while supplies last. Additional drink tickets will be sold for $2 at the event. Don’t drink? You can still come and attend our event! For a $20 entry fee, you can access the event with two drink tokens for non-alcoholic beverages. You can listen to the live music performances and enjoy the variety of food available. MGHF and Mason Health are not providing and/or guaranteeing designated drivers for this event. Having a designated driver is the responsibility of event guests and ticket purchasers. This is a 21-and-older event. ID checks required.
Doors open at 2 p.m. Last call for drinks will be 6 p.m. with drink sales closing at 6:30 p.m. There are a variety of options to get to the event:
- Mason Transit Authority will be providing a free shuttle every 30 minutes between Olympic Middle School and Shelton Athletic Club, starting at 1:30 p.m. The last shuttle will leave Shelton Athletic Club by 7:30 p.m.
- Patrons are encouraged to use Mason Transit Authority bus routes and Dial-A-Ride or local taxi services. The free Dial-A-Ride program will be operating all day within Mason County. MTA recommends that people schedule their Dial-A-Ride reservation 48 hours in advance to assure a ride is available. Rides are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, and are not guaranteed. - Mason Transit Route 5 picks up near Mason General Hospital at 13th Street and Professional Way and from Kneeland Park at the bus stop on 1st Street and the Shelton School District.
- Parking is available at the Shelton Athletic Club and the Shelton School District.
High Steel Beer Co., Steam Donkey Brewing and drink vendors will be participating! County Line Fire, Ay-Chihuahua Dawgs and other food vendors will be selling food for purchase from food trucks and food booths, with a portion of sales contributing to Mason General Hospital Foundation. Steph’s Espresso will be offering non-alcoholic beverages such as energy drinks and cold brew drinks. Guests will also enjoy a special performance by The Oly Mountain Boys, the magnetic and innovative bluegrass band from Olympia, and local performers Amanda Ransom and Graysen Foust.
