MASON HEALTH ANNOUNCES THREE NEW WINNERS OF THE SHELTON HIGH SCHOOL HEALTH SCIENCES ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIP

SHELTON, WA – Mason Health is proud to announce three new winners for this year’s full-ride scholarships for Shelton High School Health Sciences Academy graduating seniors. Congratulations to Leah Ozuna Montano, Carly Vind and Quincie Walker for earning a full-ride scholarship in nursing. Mason Health will cover the cost of their tuition for nursing prerequisites and the full cost of a nursing program at a local community college, as well as books, transportation and other expenses. This is the third year this scholarship has been offered to SHS Health Sciences students.
“All three of this year’s scholarship winners were incredibly impressive applicants,” said Nicole Eddins, Mason Health’s Senior Director of Performance Excellence. “They will be a huge asset to our nursing teams. Congratulations to Leah, Carly, Quincie and their families, and a big thank you to Shelton School District for being an excellent partner in helping Mason Health invest in our community. We could not do this without you.”
The scholarships are part of a landmark partnership with Shelton School District to increase the number of health care workers in Mason County and provide students with a means of continuing their education during tough economic times. Ozuna Montano, Vind and Walker will be presented with awards certificates and prizes at the Shelton High School Awards Night on Thursday, May 16. The future health care workers will be offered a position at Mason Health upon completion of their programs, if a position is open.
