MASON HEALTH HONORS OFFICE CLERK JACKIE MEZA WITH JANUARY 2025 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Release Date: Feb 07, 2025
SHELTON, WA – Mason Health proudly recognizes Office Clerk Jackie Meza as the District’s January 2025 Employee of the Month. Known for her warm demeanor, unwavering dedication, and ability to make patients and coworkers feel welcome, Meza embodies the spirit of compassionate care and exceptional service that Mason Health strives to provide.
Originally from Santa Maria, California, Meza moved to Washington in 1993, following her parents to the region. In 2011, she relocated with her husband back to California, but in January 2017, drawn by the area’s charm and sense of community, they decided to move back to Washington permanently.
Before joining Mason Health in November 2021, Meza held various roles in retail and in-home caregiving. She gained valuable experience working in retail at regional pharmacies and large chain stores, and in caregiving roles with in-home care agencies in Yelm and assisted living facilities in Shelton. Her time caregiving was both rewarding and challenging. After taking a leave of absence from her job during the pandemic, Meza found herself at a crossroads, questioning her next steps.
“I had lost that drive,” she shared. “But when I applied at Mason Health, I got lucky. I really like being around people — it’s what I do best. Greeting patients when they come in through the door at Mason General Hospital is gratifying. I get to help where I am needed.”
At Mason Health, Meza greets patients at Mason General Hospital, providing directions and ensuring that everyone who walks through the doors feels valued and cared for. Her coworkers describe her as kind, approachable and an integral part of the Mason Health family.
“My coworkers and the feeling of family I have here make me feel at home,” she said. “It shocked me and brought tears to my eyes when I found out I was named Employee of the Month.”
Outside of work, Meza enjoys spending time with her 15 grandchildren, reading, and caring for her two dogs and cat. Having recently purchased a home in Shelton, Meza cherishes the strong connections she has built within the community.
“People recognize me and always say hi,” she said. “They tell me, ‘You always have a smile on your face.’ That means a lot.”
