Release Date: Feb 07, 2025

SHELTON, WA – After eight years of outstanding and dedicated leadership, serving as a Hospital District No. 1 Board of Commissioner, Gayle Weston has retired. Weston, formerly a branch manager for the Key Bank branch in Shelton, was appointed to fill the position after Nancy Trucksess retired in 2017. Current board members, President Don Welander and Secretary Darrin Moody, recently appointed Lori Brady to replace Weston.

“I am grateful to Gayle for her leadership and support as a long-term commissioner,” said President Welander. “During her tenure she has been a strong and consistent presence. She was an essential member of the team; her efforts helped to move the Hospital District forward on several key programs and strategies. She will be greatly missed.”

“Gayle’s leadership and service Mason Health and our community is unparalleled,” said Mason Health CEO Eric Moll. “She has been integral to the success of our District’s strategy via the Finance Committee and a positive advocate for our community by serving on the Mason Health Foundation’s board and participating in many District, Foundation and community events. It has been an honor working with Gayle over the years and we were fortunate to have someone of her caliber as a member of our Mason Health team representing our community locally and nationally within the health care sector.”

Moll added: “Her unwavering commitment to advancing our mission, vision and values leaves a significant legacy for new community leaders who are joining our teams here at Mason Health.”

The newly appointed commissioner, Lori Brady, has lived in Mason County for 38 years and raised her family here in Shelton. She has two sons and three grandsons.

“I am looking forward to officially welcoming Lori to the Board,” President Welander said. “I am confident in her ability to lead with passion and build upon Gayle’s legacy of community partnership and patient advocacy with her own unique style of leadership and professionalism.”

Brady joins the District’s Board of Hospital Commissioners with more than three decades of experience in the real estate industry. Brady believes that providing the best service means keeping herself accessible and being a good listener and communicator.

“I am honored to accept the appointment to Public Hospital District No. 1 of Mason County’s Board of Hospital Commissioners,” Brady said. “It is a privilege to serve our community in this capacity and to contribute to the mission of providing high-quality healthcare to all.”

Brady went on to comment, “As a realtor in this community for over 30 years, I know how important it is for a community to provide excellent health care. I am committed to working collaboratively with my fellow commissioners, hospital leadership and stakeholders, to ensure the best possible outcomes for all our patients and community members.”

Brady added, “My personal goal is to uphold the Hospital District’s mission and values while ensuring transparency, accountability and of course, continued improvement. I am grateful for this opportunity, and I look forward to serving in this leadership role.”
