Sara Martinez, MD, PHD

Dr. Martinez joined the practice in 2016 as a general cardiologist and interventional cardiologist. A native South Texan, she graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from University of Texas at Austin and pursued MD and PhD degrees from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. Following general cardiology fellowship in the physician-scientist training program at Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Martinez completed interventional cardiology training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Martinez provides general cardiology consultation and provides inpatient and interventional cardiology care at Providence St. Peter Hospital. In addition to practice, Dr. Martinez enjoys active participation in the professional societies of the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention, and collaborative publications on improving interventional cardiology outcomes. Dr Martinez is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Adult Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology.
