Interpreter Services
Mason Health is committed to ensuring access to its interpreter services, programs and activities which are available at no cost to all patients, family members and visitors.
We provide professional medically certified interpreters at no charge to non-English speaking (Limited English Proficient), deaf or hard of hearing, blind or other sensory impaired patients. Patients, family members, visitors and Mason Health staff can request interpreters 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Mason Health encourages patients, family members and visitors to use the services of medically certified trained interpreters. A variety of interpretation methods are available.
- The use of a Video Remote Interpreter (VRI) that provides interpreting services from medically certified interpreters through a secure network. The access to languages also includes American Sign Language (ASL) 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Telephonic interpretation is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Language brokers/interpreters are available so that our patient population language needs are met for in-person interpretation situations (onsite needs for interpreters must be pre-scheduled prior to the visit).
- Assistive devices are available for deaf/hard of hearing patients including whiteboards and TTY/TDD telephone.

Mason Health se compromete a garantizar el acceso a sus servicios, programas y actividades de interpretación disponibles sin costo alguno para todos los pacientes, familiares y visitantes.
Proveemos intérpretes profesionales con certificación médica de forma gratuita a pacientes que no hablan inglés (con dominio limitado del inglés), sordos o con dificultades auditivas, ciegos u otros pacientes con problemas sensoriales. Los pacientes, familiares, visitantes y el personal de Mason Health pueden solicitar intérpretes las 24 horas del día, los 7 días de la semana.
Mason Health alienta a los pacientes, familiares y visitantes a utilizar los servicios de intérpretes capacitados con certificación médica. Contamos con una variedad de métodos de interpretación como:
• El uso de Intérprete de Video a Distancia (VRI, por sus siglas en inglés) que proporciona servicios de interpretación de intérpretes con certificación médica a través de una red segura. Dentro de este servicio también se incluye acceso a Lengua de Señas Americana (ASL, por sus siglas en inglés) las 24 horas del día, los 365 días del año.
• Tenemos interpretación telefónica disponible las 24 horas del día, los 365 días del año.
• Los intermediarios lingüísticos o intérpretes están disponibles para cubrir las necesidades lingüísticas de nuestros pacientes en situaciones de interpretación en persona (los intérpretes in situ deben ser programados previamente antes de la visita).
• Se dispone de dispositivos de asistencia para pacientes sordos o con dificultades de audición, como pizarras y teléfonos de texto (TTY/TDD).
